About Me

I am an active partner on your journey, not a passive observer. When we work together, I will not just say what feels comfortable in the moment. Instead, I will gently ask the hard questions, challenge old habits, and share the honest feedback you need to grow. I vow to remain deeply compassionate always and entirely on your side.

One license. A depth-oriented practice.

I'm Amy, a Psychotherapist and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist based in Brooklyn, NY. Before becoming a therapist, I received my bachelor's degree in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts.

I work with people from all walks of life to help them heal old and new wounds and better understand their internal worlds. I bring a compassionate, curious presence to therapy, while also being direct and challenging when it supports client growth.

My approach blends trauma-informed psychodynamic therapy with art therapy, and I also draw on body-based techniques, IFS, and CBT. I have a wide range of experience — from running Existential process groups at an IOP, to individual psychotherapy with people navigating complex trauma, to groups for caregivers of Alzheimer's patients and groups for young Rikers-involved men.

On going deeper

My primary work is talk therapy — a relational, psychodynamic process of exploring the unconscious patterns, early experiences, and relational dynamics that shape how we move through the world. This is not about quick fixes or symptom management. It is about understanding yourself at a deeper level, and finding what you need to move forward.

For clients who are drawn to it, art therapy offers another way in. Not as a replacement for words, but as a complement — a way of accessing what language sometimes can't reach. It is always optional, always at your pace, and never something you need any artistic skill or experience to try.
